November Meeting: Appraisals Subject to Audit Review
The November chapter meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Connolly's Pub & Restaurant. The guest speaker will be Bernard M. Sencer, ASA, President of Sencer Appraisal Associates Inc., who will lead a discussion about “Appraisals Subject to Audit Review.”
Mr. Sencer, who took his B.S. at the University of Rochester and his M.B.A. at the Baruch School of Business, is a two-term past Regional ASA Governor, who has been a consultant to the U.S. Treasury Dept., the F.D.I.C., the N.Y. State Insurance Dept. and the G.S.A., among other federal, state, and municipal agencies. His practice comprises appraisals of industrial, commercial and institutional machinery and equipment, both here and abroad.
The discussion will treat issues which arise when an appraisal written for a
specific intended use becomes the subject of an audit review. The panel will focus on inter-disciplinary questions, such as the effects of the definition of “fair value.”
This discussion is a must for appraisers in all disciplines! The program qualifies for one hour of ASA Continuing Education Credit.
The Board Meeting is at 5:30 pm.; networking mixer at 6:00 pm; dinner at 7:00 pm. Please RSVP to Aleza Friedman, AM by phone (212) 679-3400, or email. Make your check payable to ASA NY Chapter #30 for $25 per person for members, $35 for each guest. Reserve early. Space is limited.
